I’m passionate about researching and communicating how better UK policies and enforcement can benefit the poorest people in the world as well as the UK.

At present I’m working with Spotlight on Corruption, as well as developing a proposed book on the UK’s conflicted relationship with low income countries.

Anti-corruption

  • Associate at Spotlight on Corruption focusing on international corruption
  • Researched and wrote Global Corruption Busters, an in-depth report on the performance of the National Crime Agency’s International Corruption Unit and the UK’s role in developing country corruption
  • Worked with the Centre for Public Data and Transparency International UK on an amendment to the Economic Crime Bill
  • Provided written evidence to the Foreign Affairs Committee inquiry on Responding to illicit and emerging finance

Corporate justice 

  • Undertook research and analysis for Global Witness to support their conflict minerals campaign 
  • Provided written evidence to International Development Committee inquiries highlighting conflict minerals in the Democratic Republic of Congo

Financial flows

  • Launched Development Monitor and data dashboards to analyse financial flows between the UK and every developing country
  • Analysed and published key trends in UK-developing country flows
  • Submitted evidence to the International Trade Committee inquiry on trade with developing Commonwealth countries with a supporting trade data dashboard

Data gaps

  • Ran a civil society briefing on missing data about the UK’s impact on developing countries
  • Provided written evidence to the Committees on Arms Export Controls on data gaps in arms exports
